I am mikosu, an admin on the website www.8wayrun.com (8WR).
8WR is THE site for every SoulCalibur enthusiast. Casual and competitive players alike all meet there to discuss all things SC. It is unlikely to find a site more passionate about SC than ours. We have over 4500 members and growing. Most of us have followed the series from the very beginning with Soul Blade. Getting to my main point: I would like to facilitate the 8wayrun community having input on character balance and any inclusions in future games. Who better to help make the characters the best they can be than those who learn everything about them. Every frame, every hitbox, etc. We spend a lot of time with the games. My preliminary suggestion is to have a few members of 8WR to interact with Project Soul and feed them any needed information in a way that is easy for them to handle. I can get into that more if this idea is accepted. I can gather the necessary individuals. Speaking for myself I have a large knowledge of Tira and lots of ideas on how to make her a much more competitive character for the next installment in the series. Some of my work includes: A Basic Guide to using her Her list of what to punish moves with BD data + some future changes I was brainstorming And all the frame data in her wikis (Broken Destiny's is in progress as you can see) I also use Yun-seong and Zasalamel as mains. Have ideas for both of them of course but am very satisfied with the changes they have in Broken Destiny. Feel free to take a look around www.8wayrun.com sometime and see what our community, your community, is all about. Feel free to contact me regarding anything at all in this matter here or on 8WR. If we work together on the next version of Soulcalibur I am confident the result will be absolutely historical.

I would also help, anything for the soul calibur series to improve would be a plus in my book. Namco you have a community that will do this stuff for free I don't see how it could hurt. I hope you consider us.
Many people in the community would be willing to help make tutorial DVD's like arc sys did in blaz blue Last edited by Nanaya_FTW; 11-13-2009 at 02:02 AM. |

Yo, I'm Khent. I really like Soul Calibur. I'll give up red meat if Project Soul pays more attention to the competitive side of it.

Hello,
I love Soul Calibur 4 more than any other fighting game. I've also followed this series since the days of Soul Blade. I loved Soul Calibur 4 so much when it was released last year that I decided to start playing the game competitively along with becoming a part of the Soul Calibur community to help grow the game on the East Coast where the community for Soul Calibur is the strongest. I would love nothing more than to see a patch or an update done to the console version of this game along with numerous people who bought Soul Calibur 4 when it first hit the market. It would go a long way to revive and to revitalize the interest in Soul Calibur in the United States and worldwide, but we need support. My goal in writing this to hopefully get someone who's involved with the development/production/marketing of the game to reach out to 8wayrun.com to get an initial dialogue going so that our ideas are presented in an orderly and concise fashion so that we can have the best game possible. There's plenty of us with great ideas on how this game can be improved, so I hope that someone takes a moment to reach out to us. Please don't neglect your diehard fans of this game. We need your support. Sincerely, Anthony R. |

Hello, I can just be referred to as Luck!
Either way, Like Mikosu said, we're all very passionate about the game and want nothing more than to see it and its community grow. Like a few others, I signed up for this site simply to help support the game. Soul Calibur is a fantastic series and has the ability to garner an unbelievable amount of support from the fighting game community as a whole, but, without proper support from the developers, there's only so much we as a community can do. Please, if nothing else, at least give 8wayrun the once-over and give us some type of feedback. |

Well this is interesting. Hopefully Project Soul is out there and listening...
I am Jaxel, the owner and head administrator of 8WayRun.Com. I also happen to run the largest and most consistant Soulcalibur tournaments in the world. Over the course of the last year, while holding tournaments in NJ, we have had players from all over the country and world at our events: NJ, NY, PA, DE, MA, CA, IL, even Canada and France! So clearly the interest in Soulcalibur is still there. Interest could be even greater if Project Soul would be willing to talk to us at 8WayRun.Com. As previously stated, what this game needs is a patch. It doesn't need a major patch, just some balance changes here and there; no fundamental changes to the engine required. I'm sure if Namco released this patch as a new retail product, more than enough people would be willing to buy Soulcalibur IV again (for a marked down price of course). Whether it be a "Platinum Edition", or "Fighter of the Year Edition". I don't know how the licensing for the Star Wars characters will be with a rerelease, but I assure you that a majority of the community wouldn't care if you were forced to leave them out. Give us balance changes, give us the training mode in Broken Destiny, and give us Dampierre; and we will be happy. Meanwhile speak to us at 8WayRun.Com, as we are the best source of balance testers and beta testers you will find for Soulcalibur in the world.

We love you, Project Soul! I'm also from the 8WR site, and I've played in tournaments for years. Soulcalibur is a beautiful thing for competition. If you balance the characters more, it's easier to teach new players as well. Keep up the good work. Talk to us.
![]() P.S. Bring back the character Hwang! I once used him competitively after traveling all the way from Canada to France!! Last edited by MONEYMUFFINS; 11-13-2009 at 06:58 AM. |
